2002

The Lethal Commandos, (LC) was originally started by Lethal and Savage (John Mullins) in early 2003. They used the tags LC_LeTHaL_GB and LC_Savage_GB (verification on the end tags).
These were two players whom were average players at everything but specialized on a map called ARCHERS HELLFIRE. It was their favorite map and would later become an extremely important map to the clan. Archers Hellfire was a map that LC became undefeatable at during their many wars against other clans and have yet to lose this map in a war to date.

Within a few weeks of the clan being created, two of the most influential members ever to be in LC joined the team. These players were, FIREHAWK and LEW (Martin Lewis). This clan of four played many games together and decided to start recruiting some good players to join them in LC.
2003

In the very beginning there were players such as Lutta, Hulk, Phoenix, King, Slayer joining. The slowly growing LC continued to game together and form team tactics within maps such as HELLFIRE and SMOSH which they excelled at.

LC then started to build a war record.

The very first clans that LC warred were clans that were not well known for being tough but they were extremely popular such as MEIJI, FINAL, MHC.

After winning these wars with ease, we continued across the zone warring any clan that had enough members to field a game.

The biggest and most controversial war back then was against a clan called sN. (Name of clan) This clan was reputed to be the best war clan on the zone back then at that time. There were famous skilled members such as _sN_Bane, _sN_Snow, _sN_Mazon, _sN_Marmat, _sN_Prowler, _sN_Scorpion, and _sN_Hun to name a few.

Quote from _LC_LeW_RTK_:

“This was apart a war I was apart of. We won the first 2 games, but then sN won the next 2 games. I can’t even remember what the decider was, but we were winning it easily and then sN used a hack that allowed them to win the game.Although sN claimed the win, it was our win and it was their very first war loss to LC which was now known as the best war clan on the zone.”

Because LC’s top players lived in different countries and their time zones were often so different, LC had important members of the team that would set alarm clocks during the early hours to wake up for the wars. We took the wars very seriously back then.

Due to our never ending war successes, LC became very popular and we had very many members joining. LC’s policy was not just about letting good players join, if we liked you, and you were a sensible guy with a decent attitude the chances are you could get into LC even if your skill level was low.
Because the skill level was so varied within LC, _LC_LeW_RTK decided to separate us as a clan in a way that would enable us to all still unite but also let other clans know the skill level of the guy they were playing.
Thus evolved one of the best ideas LC has had, the RTK, TK, and K system.

Round Table Knight (RTK): An RTK member was not only a leader of the clan but also a skilled member and likely to be part of the war team.
Table Knight (TK): a TK member was a more valued member of the clan that had undergone training and was likely to be good. They had proved themselves loyal and passed their trial.

Knight (K): A K member was not necessarily a unskilled player but he was a new player to LC and thus anything could happen in a game.

Back then, guys were setting up wars with LC members, and then claiming LC had lost because there clan had beaten four K or tk members in a team game.
They soon learnt that they hadn’t beaten LC unless they had played a match against the RTK crowd within LC who made up the majority of the war teams. At that time, only high skill level players managed to gain the rank of RTK
RTK Players became known for being skilled players and sometimes during a war with LC, the opposition would ask for us not to field all RTK players to make it fairer for them.

More important members came to LC such as _LC_ViP_(Sunil), and _LC_Elite1_ who eventually became some of LC’s longest active and important leaders.
These guys also proved to be very good for the clan, not just in skill but in loyalty, commitment and dedication. Without these guys running the clan when a lot of the old leaders became inactive, LC could easily have died out.

At this point, clans were being formed JUST to beat LC. The top players on the zone such as Marmat, Hun, etc, were creating clans and LC were knocking them down and often forcing the new clans into retirement. Once a clan had lost a war, many of these clans soon died after with members leaving to form new clans.

Whilst LC may not have had the very best individual skilled players in LC, (although some were close) LC did have the very best in organization and teamwork. Each member of the war team was allocated a role and that role was executed as well as possible. LC completely revolutionized 4v4 play with their superior teamwork. It was only after watching LC's teamwork did other clans start to use teamwork in the same way. Arrogance, confidence, and self belief in some of the zones best players gave them losses because they did not work together as a team. It is not the best player that wins a war, but the best team. LC proved that time and time again, by beating some of the most well known and best 1v1 players ever to play the game.

“In the start of 2006 when LC‘s activity and wars were on the decline, one of the most influential players ever to join LC arrived. His name was _LC_pYth0n_K (Cory B – Now _LC_Mau5_RTK) Here was a gem that LC had found but to only be realized later on. When python first joined, he was quite frankly, ****! BUT, his game play slowly improved, he had the perfect attitude and his loyalty was and is fantastic.LC continues today because of this one man although others come and go and help to continue the legacy.”

In May 2006 something devastating happened. The gaming client that LC had risen to fame on was shutting down. MSN Gaming zone which had been open since AOC had been created was abandoned by Microsoft leaving the thousands of gamers with nowhere left to play. At the end of the zone, celebrating all the good times we had had, many old RTK’s and members came back to play for the final few weeks thinking they would never again play on a client like this.

Luckily there was a new alternative client that the Age of Empires players were able to use.

LC is no longer just a clan but a way of life.
We can all come and go, we gain employment, we go to college, we get girlfriends, wifes, or children but LC is there for us whenever life allows us to be a part of it.

I hope this is a fair reflection of LC, its certainly an honest one, although there have been very many members i have not mentioned that have been a huge part of the clan and the enjoyment that I have had with it such as vet ace, moa, foxy, wizard, u know, i could go on, and i apologize for those left out.
